thumb_c6dc500705a1cf5JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri legislators are asking Gov. Jay Nixon to take preventive measures against a potential Ebola outbreak in the state.

Republican senators expressed concern as a public health forum on Wednesday questioning if emergency responders have the necessary training and resources.

Republican Senator Kurt Schaefer of Columbia and Rob Schaaf of St. Joseph are asking the governor to issue a travel ban against those who have been to countries which have reported Ebola outbreaks.

Gail Vasterling with the Department of Health and Senior Services says the department is planning regional training to teach medical officials proper protocols and how to wear protective gear.
