thumb_c3b8a5443c672f6HARRISON, Ark. – Harrison students are helping the police department get a new look by designing a new police patch.

Anthony Bright is the facilitator for the high school’s Gobs EAST program, a student lead program dedicated to improving the community.

Bright says Police Chief Paul Woodruff first contacted him in the summer for help in creating a new design.

Chief Woodruff selected three overall winners for a cash prize. The Gobs EAST students are now combining aspects from the winning designs into the future patch.

According to Bright, the new patch should be ready by the beginning of next year, replacing the current patch design that has been worn by Harrison police officers for forty years.
