AURORA, Mo. – An Aurora woman accused of killing her four-year-old son will appear in court after a judge ruled there’s enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
Twenty-two-year-old Jade Murray is charged with second-degree murder in connection with her son Skylar’s death last year. She is accused of hitting the four-year-old hard enough to knock him off a bed. Skylar later died at a Springfield hospital in December.
During her preliminary trial on Monday, a forensic pathologist determined Skylar died of a ruptured spleen, but also found several bruises. He would later acknowledge a spleen could rupture at any moment.
The murder case now moves on before Circuit Court Judge Jack Goodman.
