Plane Crash in Baxter Co. Injures Two

thumb_782a72799e2e149MIDWAY, Ark. – The maiden flight for a homemade aircraft results in a crash in Baxter County last  night near Midway.

That was Baxter County Sergeant Doug Muerer who was on the scene of the crash.

According to authorities, Jason Tuberville of Lakeview was flying his amateur built fixed-wing Zenith 601 and crashed northwest of Ozark Regional Airport in Midway. Officials from the scene say both the pilot and the passenger, Ronnie Skaggs, were conscious when first responders arrived. Skaggs was eventually airlifted to Mercy in Springfield while Tuberville was transported by a private vehicle to Baxter Regional Medical Center.

Meurer says the FAA has been notified and will investigate the crash.
