MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A Mountain Home woman is sentenced months after pleading guilty to impersonating an employee of the IRS.
According to a report, the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce had contracted with a local Certified Public Accountant. The Chamber’s foundation attempted to apply to be tax exempt. Noel Porter, an employee of the firm, had reportedly written letters with purported IRS letterhead and forged the signature of an IRS agent.
Porter is sentenced to 12 months probation and ordered to pay 5-thousand dollars restitution.
