MISSOURI – The Missouri State Public Health Laboratory in Jefferson City is designated as an official Ebola Virus testing lab by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The state lab will now provide presumptive testing of Ebola samples before being confirmed at the CDC in Atlanta.
This as Governor Jay Nixon makes 3-point-3 million dollars available for local public health agencies. Nixon withheld those funds last summer because of uncertainty with the state’s revenues as well as Republican legislatures potentially cutting business taxes.
