The Branson School Board approves a resolution formally opposing Amendment 3 on the November ballot.
According to a news release from Branson Schools, the measure would take away local control from public schools.
School Board President Peter Marcellus says Amendment 3 would have a devastating effect on schools by implementing unfunded, state-mandated standardized tests that could cost taxpayers upwards of 1-billion dollars.
Marcellus says the measure would also prevent local boards from hiring, compensating and dismissing teachers.
