Kimberling City Man Pleads Guilty to Tax Charges

thumb_969817dbcf3731dA man from Kimberling City who worked as an emergency room physician pleads guilty in federal court to failing to file tax returns, despite earning hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

Sixty-four-year-old Phillip Psaltis reportedly worked for a number of hospitals in Missouri, Oklahoma and Louisiana since 2002. Psaltis admitted he failed to file income tax returns, and owes more than 1-million dollars in outstanding federal taxes.

Psaltis also owes over 62-thousand dollars in Missouri and Oklahoma state income taxes. His medical license was suspended three times for delinquency of Missouri taxes.

Psaltis is subject to a sentence of up to 2 years in federal prison without parole, plus a fine up to 200-thousand dollars and an order of restitution.
