Missouri Funds Locally Grown Produce

thumb_c6dc500705a1cf5MISSOURI – The Missouri Department of Agriculture announces block grants of over 450-thousand dollars to farmer’s markets and other organizations to help promote local produce.

Fourteen groups will receive the block grants from the department’s specialty crops fund. The goal is to educate residents about Missouri-grown crops such as wild leeks and the pawpaw fruit.

Both Missouri State University and the University of Missouri will use grants to research local grapes and other berries used for wine.
