Charges are filed against a Springfield man following a reported vehicle robbery and armed robbery of a Branson hotel on Thursday.
According to Branson Police Chief Kent Crutcher, 46-year-old Kimberly Keith Cook was arrested by a Taney County Sheriff’s Deputy and then positively identified by the victims.
Cook reportedly asked a female driver for a ride near the Walmart on Highway 76, then displayed a knife and got behind the wheel. The woman was able to exit the vehicle and then reported the incident to police.
Chief Crutcher says about an hour-and-a-half later, police responded to the Brick House Hotel on a report of a man displaying a knife and demanding money. Crutcher says Cook allegedly left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A short time later, Cook was arrested at a local convenience store based on the stolen vehicle description.
Cook is charged with 2 counts of first-degree robbery and 2 counts of armed criminal action.
