thumb_4a609cd2da2f3d3MISSOURI- Missouri has declared this week as Missouri Rail Safety Week to raise public awareness about railway tracks and staying safe when trains are involved.

Missouri Department of Transportation and Missouri State Highway Patrol have teamed up with Missouri Operation Lifesaver to educate about the dangers of disregarding railroad crossing laws and trespassing on railroad property.

According to a report, last year there were 64 crossing crashes and trespassing incidents that lead to 14 fatalities.

Operation Lifesaver Inc encourages the public to use safety and caution when approaching train tracks or hear a train coming.
