OZARK, Mo. – Thirty-one-year-old Aaron Clemons briefly appeared in court Thursday morning as he waived his preliminary hearing before Associate Circuit Court Judge John Waters.
Clemons is accused of killing his wife, 29-year-old Bailey Clemons, whose body was found in their burned home in Ozark. According to investigators, Clemons admitted to authorities that “he was involved in the death of his wife, and that he had intentionally set fire” to the home “to cover it up.”
Clemons is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, two counts of armed criminal action, arson, and two counts of child endangerment.
Christian County Prosecutor Amy Fite hasn’t commented on whether she’ll pursue the death penalty if he is convicted of first-degree murder. Clemons remains in the Christian County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
