Court Date Set for Scroggin Murder Trial

thumb_6c1d2d10acf9367ELLVILLE, Ark. – The trial of suspected murderer Christina Scroggin is set for April 20, 2015 in Marion County, according to Circuit Court Judge John Putnam.

The trial was scheduled to be held in Baxter County but investigators discovered the alleged murder took place in Marion County.

Scroggin is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Raul Turrieta of Mountain Home in April 2013. Investigators later found the body in the trunk of a car Scroggin drove to a residence in Baxter County along with a .38 caliber pistol. An autopsy later revealed Turrieta died from three gunshots wounds to the head and chest.
