Farris Bound Over on Stealing Charges

thumb_898d45b31bbbaa6The former Chief Operating Officer of the Farris Law Group in Branson is bound over for circuit court arraignment on charges of felony stealing.

Forty-five-year-old Elizabeth Farris of Branson appeared in court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday and has an arraignment hearing scheduled for October 23rd in Taney County Circuit Court.

According to a probable cause statement, Elizabeth Farris allegedly appropriated funds from a Farris Law Group trust account with the purpose of depriving two clients of payments from their settlements, which were supposed to be used for unpaid medical bills.

She allegedly took money from the trust account and used it for personal use, knowing the funds – totaling more than 93-thousand dollars – belonged to the clients.

Farris is charged with 2 counts of Class B felony stealing, which carries a range of punishment of 5 to 15 years in prison.
