Citizenship Test Proposed in Missouri

thumb_515c980ea6ee2d6MISSOURI – Missouri high school seniors could be state mandated to pass the same test administered to immigrants seeking U.S. citizenship.

Former Missouri officials are backing a proposal which would require seniors to pass the test with at least a 60 percent in order to graduate.

A conservative Oklahoma research group conducted a study that found less than three percent of high school students in that state could pass the test.

The Civics Education Initiative is pushing to enact similar laws across the nation by 2017.
