Seventy-three-year-old Robert Hill is dead after he was hit in the head by a 75-thousand pound front-loader at a Leo Journagan Construction Company rock quarry in Ozark.
The CEO for the company says the victim was not an employee for Journagen but a subcontractor of the construction company. However, the man operating the front-loader is a Journagen employee.
Christian County Coroner Brad Cole says Hill died from severe trauma to the head. He says the victim was waiting to load a dump truck when he was hit by the tractor. The incident happened around 6 a.m. Tuesday at the rock quarry located on Farmer’s Branch Road east of Highway 65.
An officer with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration office in Kansas City will investigate the incident.
