Arrests Made in DWI Checkpoint

thumb_9fd08a37c5ae0a1Several area law enforcement agencies conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday at the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 76.

Forsyth Police Chief Jack Gates says his department along with officers from the Merriam Woods and Rockaway Beach Police Departments found numerous violations on Saturday.

Arrests were made for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, felony and misdemeanor warrants, suspended driver’s license, and two driving while intoxicated violations.

Several citations were issued for seat belt violations, no financial proof, open container of alcohol and expired driver’s license.

The Missouri Highway Patrol, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, and Springfield Police Department also assisted in the operation.
