Alligator Found in Bull Shoals Lake

thumb_503c1d87d0db491BULL SHOALS LAKE – A baby alligator is recovered by a wildlife official on a boat ramp of Bull Shoals Lake last week, according to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Corporal Joe Purdom of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in Yellville says he found the alligator after a Mountain Home resident reported the reptile near the lake. He says when he found the alligator it was malnourished to the point of starving to death, and it later died a local veterinarian’s office:

Purdom says it is illegal to own an alligator in Arkansas and it’s also illegal to release one into a lake. He’s asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please call the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. He said that information can be relayed to him by calling its dispatch telephone number at 1-800-482-9262.
