RIPLEY COUNTY – A woman from Alpena is killed in a two vehicle crash in Ripley County yesterday.
According to state troopers, 78-year-old Earnest Hamlett of Van Buren, Mo. was traveling westbound on 160 towards JJ Junction when he turned left into the path of an oncoming SUV. That other vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Logan Lee of Bolivar.
Hamlett’s passenger, 51-year-old Patricia Emberton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by Coronor Mike Jackson. Hamlett was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for moderate injuries. Lee is reportedly uninjured.
