thumb_ec85006df10da66GALENA, Mo. – The driver of a Galena school bus is injured after the bus crashed down a hill this morning on Highway 176. No children were on board during the time of the accident.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Joyce Martin was driving southbound on 176 when the bus ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected several times, and then ran down an embankment before hitting a tree. Martin was listed with moderate injuries and was taken to Cox Medical Center Branson.

Galena Superintendent Dr. Daniel Humble says Martin was able to leave the hospital later that day. He also says that particular bus was used for transporting pre-school students and they have a replacement bus scheduled to take its place.
