FORSYTH, Mo. — A Branson man is behind bars after he allegedly beat a man with a golf club in a hotel room.
According to officials, 26-year-old Emilio Cruz-Camacho knocked on a hotel room door, but the two occupants refused to let him in. Then one of the occupants noticed flames and smoke coming from underneath the door. When he opened the door, Cruz-Camacho entered the room and began hitting one of the occupants with a golf club. When Branson police officers arrived on the scene they found the alleged victim had lacerations on his arms and legs. According to the report, investigators found a bottle of lighter fluid about 20 feet from the door, with burn marks on the bottle.
Cruz-Camacho is charged with a class B felony first-degree burglary, a class C felony second-degree assault, and armed criminal action, according to court documents. He is being held in the Taney County Jail on 1-million dollars bond.
