SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A six-time felon is still on the run after he evaded a Springfield manhunt today.
Two schools in Springfield were on lockdown while police officers searched the area for a man wanted for a felon in possession of a firearm.
The manhunt ended around 2 p.m. after police determined he had escaped their perimeter.
The suspect is identified as 41-year-old Gary Orrick who evaded the authorities and is still on the loose.
He was charged in July by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and a couple days later Springfield police officers found him in possession of a .22 caliber revolver during a traffic stop.
Authorities describe Orrick as white male, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, with short hair. He was wearing a sleeveless yellow/orange shirt, long shorts, and has tattoos on his legs and arms.
