HOLLISTER, Mo.- A Hollister man pleads guilty to first degree sexual misconduct from an incident that occurred in April of this year.
Judge Tony Williams sentenced 21-year-old Dustin Layton to a year in the Taney County Jail as part of a plea agreement made between Layton and the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Layton followed a young woman through Wal-Mart located at Branson Hills Parkway in April. Layton approached the woman in an aisle and exposed his genitals and made sexual comments to her.Layton then fled the scene. He was later identified by a surveillance video and a photo line-up.
According to a report, normally sexual misconduct in the first degree is a class B misdemeanor, however,Layton has been previously been found guilty for similar crimes. In 2013, Layton pled guilty to exposing his genitals to a Hollister School bus full of children in 2010. In March of 2013 he entered another guilty plea for exposing himself to a high school student in Wal-Mart in 2012.
Layton’s felony probation was revoked as part of his guilty plea. He will serve his one-year sentence in Taney County Jail.
