NIXA, Mo. â A Nixa teen dies in a hospital as a result of a stabbing that occurred at an apartment complex on Thursday afternoon.
According to law enforcement officials, police officers responded to Pheasant Run Apartments around 4:00 p.m. and found 15-year-old Joey Phillips-Clay who had been stabbed in the throat. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Police arrested 21-year-old Jesus Padilla in connection with the stabbing but no charges have formally been filed.
A spokesperson with the Nixa Police Department would not comment further on the incident, saying the investigation is ongoing at this time.
