New Judge Assigned to Murder Case

thumb_65b67010d90660eBERRYVILLE, Ark. – A new judge is assigned to the case of accused killer Victor Acuna-Sanchez, who allegedly killed his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve in 2012 in Berryville.

Jay Finch replaces David Clinger who recused himself in June for family medical reasons, according to a report. Circuit Judge Kent Crow was originally appointed the case but stepped down since the suspect and his girlfriend were his former tenants.

Acuna-Sanchez is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault, as well as violating a no-contact order. He has plead not guilty to all charges.

The next hearings for Acuna-Sanchez were scheduled for July 29 and 30 but have been postponed to give Judge Finch additional time to review the case. Those hearings have yet to be rescheduled.
