
BRANSON, Mo.- Western Taney County Fire Protection District is taking applications for those interested in training to become volunteer firefighters.
The training is given three times a year according to Fire Chief Chris Berndt and includes equipment and physical training to those who qualify.

The next recruit firefighter academy begins in September, and will be three weekends long. Applicants must pass a physical and select physical challenges in order to take training. Applicant testing will be on August 16th and August 30th, though applications may be taken after those dates, according to Chief Berndt.
