TANEY COUNTY – A Hollister man is injured in two vehicle on Highway 165 on Monday afternoon.
State troopers say 73-year-old Gary Cooksey was westbound when his SUV crossed over the centerline and hit an eastbound pickup. That truck was driven by 24-year-old Joshua Howell of Kirbyville.
According to rescue officials, Western Taney County firefighters used the jaws of life to free Cooksey, who was then transported to Cox South by ambulance with moderate injuries.
The driver is reportedly uninjured.
Members from the Taney County Ambulance District, the Taney County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri Highway Patrol assisted in the rescue efforts.
