Voters can cast their ballots in the Donna S. Barber Room at the Durand Center on Main Street from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and again on next Monday August 11.
A half-percent sales tax will be determined with the revenue split between the police and fire departments. Thirty-percent will be placed into a fund for equipment, with other funds used for salary increases.
According to officials, the special election is paid with private funds with no tax payer money being spent.
The official Election Day will be Tuesday, August 12. The only polling place open that day will be the First United Methodist Church on Bower Avenue from 7:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m.
