BRANSON, Mo- Ozark Water Watch publishes this year’s “Status of the Watershed” and finds the water quality to be average overall.
Over four-hundred and 50 test sites are taken from Taneycomo, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Beaver Lake. Samples were then processed and the data is revealed within the report.
Many areas that are safe for fishing and swimming were given an A rating. The executive director of Ozarks Water Watch, David Casaletto, explains that other areas are showing excess nutrients that could have a negative affect on the environment, causing the over all grade to be a C+.
He also says the data is important to the area and progress could not be made to improve local water quality without it.
This year has shown improvement, according to Casaletto, who says in some areas the water is the clearest it has been in 15 years.
