BUFFALO RIVER – The Buffalo National River announces the use of drones or the operation of any unmanned aircraft is prohibited.
The recent decision to ban drones is an interim policy that will remain in place until the National Park Service develops regulation to address unmanned aircraft policy through the public rule making process.
The Park Service says while drones can be beneficial for researching forest health and wildlife populations, the use of drones contrasts the core values of the park which include a peaceful river experience.
