(Harrison) – On May 24, 2014, at 2:20 a.m. Haven Michelle Massey was born. What makes this birth unique is that baby Haven just couldn’t wait; she was born just north of Leslie on the shoulder of US Highway 65 in the back of an NARMC EMS ambulance.
She was 5lbs., 11oz., 16.5 inches long and just lacked one day being 37 weeks in gestation. Both baby and mother were transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center and were deemed to be in great condition.
NARMC Paramedic Amy Henry and EMT Melanie Meyer delivered the baby in the back of the ambulance. Paramedic Amy Henry stated, “I have seen a lot of things in the back of my ambulance, this was the most awesome!”
Proud parents are Felicia & Jered Massey, who reside in Leslie.
