A man from Ozark is sentenced to 7 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for assaulting a law enforcement officer in Taney County.
Twenty-nine-year-old Leavy Brawdy was arrested after attempting to run over Taney County Sheriff’s Deputies with a stolen SUV in October of last year. One officer jumped out of the path of the SUV, narrowly escaping serious injury. Brawdy evaded officers from multiple agencies, eventually parking the vehicle and fleeing on foot through the woods. He was taken into custody the next day by Rockaway Beach Police.
Brawdy pleaded guilty to assault on an officer and was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Other felony counts against Brawdy were dismissed as part of a plea agreement with the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office.
