‘Idol’ Holds Branson Auditions

4 5 6 7BRANSON, Mo. – The next American Idol superstar might come from right here in the Ozarks

Hundreds of hopefuls lined the streets of the Branson Landing waiting their turn to get a shot at an American Idol audition in front of a producer. By 9:45 a.m. they gave out their first golden ticket:

That was 17-year-old Kelsie Everett of Springdale. Fellow Arkansan 22-year-old Jairus Sanders of Malvern also made it through to the next round.

Branson’s own, 22-year-old Abby Van Gilder camped out since 6:30 a.m. to get her chance in front of the judges:

These chosen few that move on to the next round, won’t be heading to Hollywood,  but to Kansas City, where two more rounds of auditions await them. If they can survive those auditions, like the ones from Saturday, they’ll be heading to Hollywood.
