CoxHealth Supports Boys & Girls Club

thumb_4df2584be3bb7c3Leaders from Cox Medical Center Branson raise $420 to help the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks purchase drink carts and coolers.

The carts, Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks Operations Director Steven Mills explained, will provide a much needed alternative to keeping children at the club’s three locations – Branson, Forsyth and Reeds Springs – hydrated during outdoor activities. He said in the past the club would have to send a staff member with a group of children to get a drink or stop the activity and take everyone inside for a water break.

“These coolers will provide a space where members can get a drink when they need it without stopping an entire activity,” Mills said.

The money raised will be used to purchase three coolers and carts.

“This donation will allow our members to stay healthy and hydrated during our programs and activities that take place outdoors,” Mills said.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks serves approximately 1,200 children every year.

The money was raised during a Cox Medical Center Branson Leadership Development Institute. The Leadership Development Institute is a quarterly event that brings together approximately 100 leaders from the Branson and Springfield campuses for specific training and leadership development.
