Ozark Aldermen Approve Dog Ordinance

thumb_73ced2ed04712a3OZARK, Mo. – Ozark Aldermen vote unanimously to change an ordinance in the city which euthanizes dogs at animal shelters.

The current ordinance states unclaimed dogs are put down after seven days. Now the dogs will be available to stay at animal shelters in Ozark until space becomes limited. Then dogs will be moved to other area animal shelters.

The city’s animal control shelter only holds about eight dogs – Alderman Christopher Wegley says it will be imperative for the city to work with multiple rescues and shelters for the new ordinance to be successful.
