thumb_d01329e5b215e36 thumb_ffc1003c1b3eb29Over the next few weeks, Hometown Daily will feature Lakes Area Athletes who have signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college. Some we have covered already and some being covered for the first time. Perry Phillips covered the signing in May of Skyler Murphy:

A Reeds Spring athlete will get a chance to display his talents at the next level. Skyler Murphy signed a National Letter of Intent to attend William-Penn University in Oskalosa, IA. The Statesmen have been a big part of the NAIA National Tournament at College of the Ozarks the past couple of years. They will be moving up to NAIA Division I after the 2014-2015 season. Murphy said he chose William-Penn because the personality of the coach made him feel welcome and at ease. He felt he had a shot a some Varsity playing time. A thee-point sharpshooter, Murphy should fit in well, with the run and gun style of the Statesmen. He plans to major in Secondary Eudcation and wants to coach.
