thumb_47272b4511be782The owner of two antique businesses in Ozark is sentenced in federal court for willfully failing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in employment taxes.

Sixty-five-year-old Kerry May of Ozark received a sentence of one year and one day in federal prison without parole.

The court also ordered May to pay more than 94-thousand dollars in restitution on unpaid interest. That’s in addition to over 373-thousand dollars May has already paid.

May pleaded guilty to two felony counts of failure to collect and pay employment taxes for his two corporations – Spring Creek Antiques, Inc., which has 25 employees; and Riverview Antique Center, Inc., which has 10 employees.

May reportedly failed to account for and pay the IRS the employees’ trust fund portion, as well as the corporations’ portion of the employment taxes.
