Man Arrested for Fight at Park

thumb_1051b0c257630d3.preview-300HARRISON, Ark. – A man is in custody following a fight at the park in Harrison.

Harrison Police Chief Paul Woodruff reports 53-year-old John Bryson was riding a scooter near Lake Harrison Park around 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when he saw another man and tried to run him over. Bryson then got off the scooter and the two men were attacking each other. During the altercation, a gun in Bryson’s wristband fell out which was reportedly stolen from another state.

Woodruff said when he showed up to the scene he witnessed two men on the ground and a woman holding a gun. He said the woman dropped the gun and he restrained the two men until officers arrived.

Bryson was taken to the Boone County Jail but then reported medical problems and was taken to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center for treatment.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, theft by receiving, DWI, refusal to submit to chemical test and carrying a weapon. His bond is set at 75-thousand dollars.
