Kansas City Police reports that animal control received a tip from a concerned citizen that the cats were mistreated. The animals were then seized Monday from an apartment complex in northKansas Cityfrom the woman who allegedly neglected the cats. Several cats required medical treatment.
A spokeswoman for the KC Pet Project, Tori Fugate, says the shelter has already taken in 80 cats this past week. She also added it will take some time before the seized cats will be ready for adoption meaning the shelter could use donations for crates, litter, and money.
