Passenger Struck by Boat Prop on Table Rock

The Missouri State Highway Patrol – Water Division releases the name of the person injured in a weekend boating accident on Table Rock Lake.

Nineteen-year-old Drew Russell of Branson suffered serious injuries when a boat propeller struck his leg as he was attempting to board the vessel.

The accident report states Russell was boarding the rear of the boat when the driver, 19-year-old Bradley Herschend of Branson, placed the boat in gear.

Russell was taken by EMS to Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

Herschend is charged with boating while intoxicated, possession of liquor by a minor, and failing to exercise the highest degree of care while operating a watercraft. Herschend was booked in the Kimberling City Jail and later released.

The accident occurred at 7 p.m. Saturday southwest of Long Creek Marina in Taney County.

One person is injured in a weekend boating accident on Table Rock Lake.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol – Water Division report does not identify the person who was injured Saturday night south of Long Creek Marina on Table Rock Lake in Taney County. The report says the boat was driven by 19-year-old Bradley Herschend of Branson.

The accident occurred around 7 p.m. as a passenger attempted to board the rear of the boat; the driver placed the boat in gear and the propeller struck the passenger’s leg.

The report says the vessel, a 2001 Thunderbird, was released to another driver.
