ROCKAWAY BEACH, Mo. – The Taney County Partnership is teaming up with the City of Rockaway Beach to remove an invasive plant species along Lake Taneycomo’s shoreline.
Jonas Arjes with the partnership says the curly-leaf pondweed is currently in its reproductive stage – which is the optimal time for treatment:
The Ozark Empire Electric Company will be treating the plants along the lakeshore. Taney County Commissioners approved a motion to fund five-thousand dollars to help the initiative, with the City of Rockaway Beach funding ten-thousand dollars.
